Online-dating behemoth Ok Cupid is adding a feature tailor-made for polyamorous people. The new setting, which became available for some beta users in December, allows users who are listed as “seeing someone,” “married,” or “in an open relationship” on the platform to link their profiles and search for other people to join their relationship. A screenshot of the new feature obtained by The move comes in response to a rapid uptick in the number of Ok Cupid users interested in non-monogamous relationships.I joined OKCupid to build my own poly-friendly community, and I have not been disappointed.
Last year, it increased the numbers of genders it recognized to 22, adding options like transgender and genderqueer.
The polyamorous profile-linking setting is not yet coming to Tinder or Match.com, the other sites owned by Ok Cupid parent company Match Group, according to Almendares.

In response to your question of why it’s “easier” for women, the answer is somewhat complicated. A guy’s worst imagined scenario for matching with the wrong person is finding out the other person is unattractive in real life.
Minutes after receiving my reply, he took down his profile (or possibly blocked me, I’m not sure how that works).
His question was this: I decided to address his question in terms of online dating in general, and here is my response.
Instead, this is a guide for anyone who feels that the online dating landscape makes too many assumptions about how ‘normal’ they are.
Be it not fitting into the gender binary, having non-mainstream tastes (sexual or otherwise), or favouring a non-monogamous or otherwise unconventional relationship model, there’s a pile of factors that can make one feel uncatered for.
I found plenty of nice and friendly people, happy to connect and generous to share ideas and experiences.
I got advice on relationship issues, information about meetings and events, new contacts, book and film recommendations, I have even got some guidance on DIY work.
In the meantime, I have been building some nice friendships with people all over the world.
